WOI - 0002: APPRECIATION
[ Panel 1 ]
EGG-SHAPED HEAD GUY 1: So I hear you got a dog?
:: Being a silly optimist, he’s excitedly waiting to hear about his friend’s dog. For some unknown reason he’s also wearing a “Hand-Made Brigade” shirt. ::
EGG-SHAPED HEAD GUY 2: I sure did.
:: Arms crossed, he begins to brag. He’s a mans man, and even has a manly shirt that says “Manly Stuff” on it to prove this point. ::
[ Panel 2 ]
EGG-SHAPED HEAD GUY 1: But why? I thought you HATED dogs! What changed?
EGG-SHAPED HEAD GUY 2: I realized how much they make me APPRECIATE LIFE!
EGG-SHAPED HEAD GUY 1: Well, I’m glad to hear that! So, where is the little guy?
[ Panel 3 ]
EGG-SHAPED HEAD GUY 2: Over there.
:: He points over his shoulder at a dead dog, who apparently OD’d on alcohol and swagger. ::

patience is a virtue.so it diligence. :D
Does that mean you have both of those? lol
well… yes, but i meant I have patience.Do you have diligence?
Oh I do… I mean, how many webcomic artists would still post a strip (relative or not)? Other than Scott and I, I don’t know many who would actually keep working thru a problem like this. I feel like most webcomic artists would take this opportunity to take a “hiatus,” at least from what I’ve seen in the few years that I’ve been reading webcomics.
You make an excellent point. Other than you two, I can think of… none. wow. Out of 89 webcomics… nothing but you guys. It’s really impressive actually.
haha, I’m glad! I hope that help mine and his comics stand out over others. :]
wait… I thought of one other. Alfred Lam of Sodium Eyes.http://sodiumeyes.comhe posts unfinished pages even when they’re still just sketches.
Oh man, he’s still doing comics?!? That’s good to know. I used to talk to him back when I started TNP and was still doing Reeder Rabbit. We actually were gonna invite him to the group. Not really sure what ever came of that. lol. I’ve always liked his comic though.
small world, isn’t it?
Apparently.
Aw, bummer. I hate when that happens… even though I know how to fix (read: replace) it. :)
Pretty much that’s what I’ve ended up doing.
Sorry to hear it. Indeed, power supplies can die one of 2 ways, silently on their own, or by sending a nice big spike through your system. If you were around where I live, you could borrow my crashbox/testing computer…
Thanks man, I appreciate the sentiment all the same. Even though this was a pretty crappy situation, I was lucky enough to have a filler sort of sitting around already AND I’m just ending up replacing a few of the parts. I’ll come out of this with an even better computer than before! Can’t complain about that part… except my wallet isn’t too pleased… but screw that thing! COMICS FIRST! :P
YES… always have a backup computer! And the know-how to repair the one that’s broke. And yes, comics have top priority. :)I had a PSU fail once in my old boxit would run for a while, and then just turn off. Luckily, none of the other components were fried, and the replacement PSU worked much better (and as a bonus, quieter). And listing the number of motherboard incidents I’ve had would turn this comment into a wall-o-text, so, no. :P
Yeah, I feel trapped if I only have 1 computer. I’ve always had computer problems of some sort or another in my life time, so I’ve grown accustom to having a back up while I fix the other. It seems sometimes failures like these are just for the best, I mean.. other wise we’d probably just be too damn lazy to ever upgrade our systems! lol I’m fortunate I just came back from a convention… or else I would have been extremely broke and may not have been in as good of shape for quite some time. :/
my computer isnt upgradableeee T-Tits motherboard is so old it doesnt support anything new…my computer is old!!! T-T
Do you have a laptop then? That’s one thing I HATE about laptops… when the get old or a part goes bad, you may as well just go get a new one. D:
Aw the poor puppy, hope there aren’t more fillers like this.
haha… well I’m just crossing my fingers I wont have to resort to another filler for quite a while. ><
im glad my cats arent like that…on a seccond thought, they could smuggle in my room some beer in exchange for petting, since thay are ninjas…
Dogs have no self-control! I’m sure that is one reason cats are smarter than dogs. lol. My dog will eat or drink himself stupid if I didn’t tell him to stop at some point. ><
Cats might be smarter than dogs but the loyalty and pure awesomeness they have more than makes up for it.
This is very true. I’m not much of a cat person anyway. :/
Well except for this: http://lawls.co/fur-affinity/
Doesn’t mean I’m a cat person. :P
Congratulations, you have been appointed the king of Egypt’s longest river. Let’s all hear it for the king of the Nile.
you know the next time you have a problem like this you could do a little drawing of the old technical difficulties fillers like on tv but with rudy or somethingoh god i know how you feel, before i figured what was going on with my laptop i would have the same shit happen all the time, i went through 4 new power cords to figure out that my battery was frying the cords, took the battery out and not a problem since
that reminds me of Spuds McKenzie, now theres a dog that could party
haha, well if I was actually able to draw something that related to my actual issue I probably would have. I actual drew/wrote this weeks ago when I was conceptualizing my new comic. The word “appreciation” was just relative enough to my computer crashing that I used this one over another one. That being said, what do you think of the vibe of this for the new strip? I want it to be a mixture of clip art pieces, hand drawings, photos, etc. Just whatever I feel like would relay the joke well enough for that day.I hate when the issue with a computer is just something as simple as that. ><
Whos Spuds McKenzie?
If I remember correctly it was the Simpson’s dog’s (Santa’s little helper) alter ego when he was the duff mascot.
i like the vibe its really funny and a little dark at the same time, but not too dark, it is really cool, and yea that title is hilariousSpuds Mckenzie was used in the late 1980’s for bud light commercials and merchandise was a bull terrier. And also like the taco bell dog it was a female dog portrayed as a male
Santa’s little helper was actually named “Suds McDuff”
Yeah part of the formula for this new comic has to do with the title of the strip. :]
ooooh spoilers, well i cant wait to see this, you have my anticipation growingso when can we expect this to start, are you gonna do a whole new site for that, or kindof have it on here like an extra?
Well now that my mini is done… I can start working on getting that project and ABlue back off the ground. :] The mini was just taking FOREVER cos I was doing the same amount of work per one of these posts… but for one project that will be released at one time.. so it was taking up pretty much ALL my free time. Idk, I’d say by mid April I should have that OR Ablue going again. :]
