i want to say that i think metal beard is gonna get in the way when there fist are about to collide in that cliche action seen and break both of there hands against his facial hair of nostalgic doom
awww shit, things are starting to pick up real damn fast. Lets hope Joseph can arise to the challenge with his trusty baseball bat, fists or some other misc. power of some sort…Your story telling skills are phenomenal, I can’t wait to see what happens next :D
dude i feel that i must tell you that she was shot at. i dont know by who, or when, why, or any other possible details that may make you believe that this happened but i assure you that it occured, or at lest thats what i was assured of by my intrepid news troll.
Joseph is raising his fists and taking on a battle pose, all the while his arms remind me of skinny little antennae filled with wrath. In the background, this song is playing as he begins to man up.
I’m scared though. I fear for Joseph the say way I do for a puppy born with only one eye, missing a leg, no tail, mite eaten ear, half of it’s teeth are rotting, and the owner named it Lucky. I just know deep down inside that he’s going to take a swing at Pop Villain, and probably get his elbow dislocated when she easily slaps his punch away.
Where’s that black haired chick that brought them here anyway? i forgot her name… anyway i feel like joseph looks like how i would, angry face small arms. smallish arms. I think his are still bigger than mine… that’s what she said… i’m sorry, i just saw how that could sound wrong.
Haha, her name is Autumn, and if she was standing next to you when you were talking about how his is bigger than yours, she would have said the same thing. ^_~ She’ll be back, I just wanted to focus these few strips on Joseph and Cadence’s interactions.
Joseph looks like he has the Street Fighter stance going on. I was going to say “Finish her!” And then I realized that was Mortal Kombat…I just hope he’s able to hold his own or better. And that she doesn’t have more surprises in store… meaning I hope Im not right… lol
I think they are now starting to watch the show laid in front of them. People LOVE to watch fights, especially epic bar fights in which people are getting thrown across the room!
Yeah, this seems to be the most bad ass Joseph’s ever been. Not sure, but I think the only time he was ever really bad ass was in the very first page, and arguably on page ten?
Joseph steps up pretty well throughout the comic series. Might not always be at the winning end of a fight (especially against God (that’s going back a bit)), but he can take a hit pretty well.
Good point David, I even forgot that he manned up against God. I think he’s just accidently arrogant and doesn’t think out what he’s saying. The way I’ve wrote his character, in my mind anyway, was that he’s always been too lax about things, which suddenly gets him into bad situations because he didn’t think… “maybe I shouldn’t do this” … before doing it anyway.
Yeah… that’s pretty much how it looks to me too. A normal person would probably say “This is going to go bad very fast…”. But hey, being normal isn’t that much fun anyway.
I’m not sure I like the new site lay out too much cause the store and archive and what not buttons seems rather small, nondescript, and hidden in with a bunch o other crap. Took me a while to find em.On a side note: the art for Nerf This as changed so much since that add was made that I didn’t recognize it and had to click on it to see what it was.
Well, let me explain my reasoning for doing that… I track the numbers of my site, and what people click when there here and all that sorta of fun stuff. The percentage of people who actually went to the archives, explored the extras and about sections, etc… were really rather low. I figured, most people are here to read a comic, then leave, so let’s try to make the focus of the top section of the site, JUST the comic. So i made the comic slightly bigger, and moved the menu to the left side of the site. In fact, the left side of the site is more of the “Important, readers should check this stuff out” -side. Then the right side is my “i’m required to have these, if people are interested, cool, they can click them too”-side.Hopefully you warm up to the design over time, cos the last design the whole right bar was bascially a “good luck finding anything, this is so disorganized”-side …. and It was really really bothering me.
Also, yeah, that definitely DOESN’T look like Steph any more, does it? haha YAY FOR GROWTH!
It’s not really that I don’t like the layout. It just seems those buttons seem like a few small spots o grey lost in a see o color. I think they need to be a little bigger or something. Otherwise, I actually do like the layout.
On the growth thing, when I was look back at some o the old posts, I noticed how much your comic has progressed in the art department as well. I don’t think it’s made as much progress as Scott’s comics have, but I think that’s cause you started at a much higher point than he did. It’s like a couple o fat people losing weight. It’s a lot easier to lose 50 pounds if you’re starting out at say 350 pounds, but if you’re at 250 pounds, you may find it a bit more difficult.
LMAO!I think Scott used to only put like 60% of his abilities into his all into the comic back then.. and now he puts 300% in on each strip. Where as I’ve since the beginning gave 100% so, even though I obviously have had growth, mine seems rather natural and his seems like WOAH WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS COMIC!?! heh.
can’t say i like the site redesign. at all. seems to be too…squished. and also there’s an annoying “advertise with project wonderful” thing covering over the bottom half of the navigation bar (with the first comic, previous comic, next comic, etc buttons)
I sorta thought that too… i think the reason that it feels that way is because I tried not to sacrifice the size of the comment section. Leaving them slightly bigger makes the sidebars feel a bit squished… but I like the comment section, so didn’t want you guys to have a squishy conversation area. Can you take a screen shot of the error for me? I’ve tested it on all my browsers on 2 computers and don’t see it? It may be possible that the Caching I have on my site, is holding the site in a broken transition state… which means it COULD resolve itself after a few page views… OR, maybe your chrome isn’t fully updated to the recent version? Let me know if the problem doesn’t resolve itself.
Well I like the new design, but if you want to make it less squished you could make the whole thing slightly wider, the lowest resolution I could fit it comfortable on was 1152 x 864 and that had a bit to spare, 1024 X 768 could fit at a bit of a squeeze (the comic fit none of the side stuff) so depending on the lowest screen resolution you have much traffic on you could consider making it a bit bigger.
Sadly, according to my stats.. there are still plenty of people who have 980px wide displays… which is what the comic is at now. I’ve been considering bumping it up to 1000px… but I’m not sure if that would piss those select few off. At 1000px, you’d even be able to see the art better… which I’d LOVE to do.
Oh, well that happens to me as well, but it just takes an extra second to load is all. Not really sure why, but if you wait a few seconds the nav bar SHOULD fully load. Right?
On the nav-bar project wonderful add thing, I have the same issue for a few seconds like you said, Denis, until it fully loads. After that it’s good.On the screen res thing, I know I have lots o room left over on both sides. Even on my small screen which is where I keep my browser anyway.
I actually don’t think it’s PW.. the more I look into it, I think it may actually be the FB like button making it lag. :/ I’ll keep trying to figure that out.
I am really diggin how Joseph turned out in the first panel!
Yeah, I think that’s the most “bad ass” I’ve ever drawn him. :]
i want to say that i think metal beard is gonna get in the way when there fist are about to collide in that cliche action seen and break both of there hands against his facial hair of nostalgic doom
LOL, he’s just too hard core to NOT be a part of a bar fight?
hahah lol you say that like its a question OF COURSE HE IS!
Haha, we’ll see. ^_~
GET HER!! XD
TIME TO BATTLE!
awww shit, things are starting to pick up real damn fast. Lets hope Joseph can arise to the challenge with his trusty baseball bat, fists or some other misc. power of some sort…Your story telling skills are phenomenal, I can’t wait to see what happens next :D
Haha, yeah, the pace just went from 0 to 60 in a few posts didn’t it?Thanks man! I really appreciate that, I’m glad you think so. :]
for some reason i wanna punch Lady Gaga in the face right now… odd…
dude i feel that i must tell you that she was shot at. i dont know by who, or when, why, or any other possible details that may make you believe that this happened but i assure you that it occured, or at lest thats what i was assured of by my intrepid news troll.
I think that’s a rather normal feeling.
man… her hair is just so stupid.
lol, right?
Joseph is raising his fists and taking on a battle pose, all the while his arms remind me of skinny little antennae filled with wrath. In the background, this song is playing as he begins to man up.
LOL Nice choice of song. :P
Haha, ouch! That sounds pretty crappy. Let’s hope that DOESN’T happen! :P
Where’s that black haired chick that brought them here anyway? i forgot her name… anyway i feel like joseph looks like how i would, angry face small arms. smallish arms. I think his are still bigger than mine… that’s what she said… i’m sorry, i just saw how that could sound wrong.

Do you predict that she going to do a fatality on him then?
No, not her specifically. And he wont die. Just something I thought I saw, a few strips back…
Interesting. WHO KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN!?! … do I? PROBABLY…. or maybe i don’t. :P
I wonder if the other people in the club are anoyed that she has stoped singing as there seems to be no other music
Well I see the crowd doin… crowd stuff, so they can’t be too upset. Though, they could be building up for a riot. Who knows.
I think they are now starting to watch the show laid in front of them. People LOVE to watch fights, especially epic bar fights in which people are getting thrown across the room!

I thrive on not being “normal.”

Yeah, I know what you mean there. His earlier pages have kinda of a simple, cutesy look to them. A lot like his journal posts now days.
Exactly.
There are those pretty swooshing lights I was asking about! Now I can finish my science project!
What will be the facts that you use to test your hypothesis in front of your teacher?
can’t say i like the site redesign. at all. seems to be too…squished. and also there’s an annoying “advertise with project wonderful” thing covering over the bottom half of the navigation bar (with the first comic, previous comic, next comic, etc buttons)
this is in chrome btw

that’s the screenshot.
also, i took it using the webpage screenshot extension for chrome found here:https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ckibcdccnfeookdmbahgiakhnjcddpki
Oh, well that happens to me as well, but it just takes an extra second to load is all. Not really sure why, but if you wait a few seconds the nav bar SHOULD fully load. Right?
Don’t know how much effort it would be but you could consider makeing a few diffrent versions for diffrent resolutions.
On the nav-bar project wonderful add thing, I have the same issue for a few seconds like you said, Denis, until it fully loads. After that it’s good.On the screen res thing, I know I have lots o room left over on both sides. Even on my small screen which is where I keep my browser anyway.
That’d probably be WAY too hard. haha

Every time I see someone flying off into the distance like that, I think Team Rocket.
haha! Good call, I should have made it have a twinkle in the sky where she ended up!
White knight to save the day! Awwww
Skinny white knight!
If that’s supposed to be Lady Gaga, you got her boobs all wrong.
Haha, it not actually her, she was just influenced from the craziness of Lady Gaga; Pop Stars are villains to me.
what a reciprocal. i think all villains are pop stars, in there own way.
I guess it is one of those vice versa things, isn’t it?
